Continuous numerical solutions of coupled mixed partial differential systems using Fer's factorization (Q1300807)

Mixed problems for time-dependent systems of the type \[ u_t- A(t) u_{xx}- B(t)u= 0,\quad 0< x< p,\quad t> 0, \] are considered. Exact and continuous numerical solutions in terms of matrix exponentials [à la factorization proposed by \textit{F. Fer}, Acad. Roy. Belgique, Bull. Cl. Sci., V. Ser. 44, 818-829 (1958; Zbl 0083.07502)] are discussed.
