The concept of weak \(q\)-pseudoconvexity for a wedge \(W\) of \(\mathbb C^n\) is introduced, which is expressed in terms of \(q\)-subharmonicity both of a defining function or an exhaustion function. For wedges \(W\) with this property solvability of the \(\overline \partial\) system is shown for forms with \(\mathcal C^{\infty }(\overline W)\)-coefficients of degree \(\geq q+1.\) This generalizes former results of the author [J. Anal. Math. 74, 99-111 (1998)], \textit{A. Dufresnoy} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 29, No. 1, 229-238 (1979; Zbl 0394.32015)] and \textit{V. Michel} [Math. Ann. 295, No. 1, 135-161 (1993; Zbl 0788.32010)].
