The authors present the A-F-normed algebras. They are a subclass of the F*-algebras introduced by \textit{W. Zelazko} in [Studia Math. 19, 333-355 (1960; Zbl 0096.08303)]. In the first part of the paper the authors give examples of these algebras and they study its structure and relation with p-normed algebras. The last part of the paper, is devoted to obtain spectral properties for advertibly complete A-F-normed algebras. For these algebras it is obtained that the spectrum of every element is compact.
