Considering three points on a curve in the Euclidean plane, their tangents will intersect in three points, and there is a unique circle passing through them. If two of the original points converge to the third fixed one we obtain a limiting circle, called the Abramescu circle. The limit exists under suitable regularity assumptions, including that there is no point of inflection on the curve. The author proves some relations between the Abramescu circles and the focal points of osculating parabolas within the framework of the group of similarities, using plane projective curve theory.
