Based on an isospectral problem the author derives the \(1+1\)-dimensional isospectral evolution equation hierarchy, from which two new \(2+1\)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equations are obtained. The algebro-geometric solutions to the \(1+1\)-dimensional isospectral equation hierarchy and two \(2+1\)-dimensional equations are presented.
