    S. Denisov has proved a remarkable extension of Rakhmanov's theorem about the limit behavior of recurrence coefficients corresponding to a measures \(\mu\) on the real line with compact support such that \(\mu'>0\) almost everywhere in \([-1,1]\) and the set \(\text{ supp}(\mu)\backslash [-1-\varepsilon, 1+\epsilon]\) is finite for every \(\varepsilon>0\). In view of the importance of the result, the authors give an alternate proof which is based on standard and purely orthogonal polynomials technique which they have developed in the 1980's.
