The main theorem is a coincidence point theorem for three mappings defined on a complete Menger space, which is an extension of a known result of \textit{T. L. Hicks} [Zb. Rad., Prir.-Mat. Fak., Univ. Novom Sadu, Ser. Mat. 13, 63--72 (1983; Zbl 0574.54044)]. An analogous result is deduced in complete fuzzy metric spaces. For related results, see also the papers of \textit{V. Radu} [ Proc. 9th Int. Semin., Varna/Bulg. 1985, Lect. Notes Math. 1233, 125--133 (1987; Zbl 0622.60008)] and \textit{O. Hadzic} and \textit{E. Pap} [Int. J. Uncertain.
