It is demonstrated a formal equivalence of the continuum limit of the generalized Rössler system (GRS) with a chaotic transmission line oscillator. It is presented at first an electronic circuit implementation of the GRS with finite phase space dimension as a large system of ordinary differential equations. Then, the dimension is taken to infinity to get a model of a chaotic transmission line that is a system of two linear wave equations coupled by nonlinear boundary value conditions. By solving it, a nonlinear difference equation is obtained. Two models are derived: for large odd and even dimensions. Finally, Lyapunov spectrum and exponents are investigated for such mappings to show their chaotic properties.
