Consider the Cauchy problem \[ \frac{du(t)}{dt} = Au(t)+v(t)p,\quad 0\le t\le T,\ u(0)=u_0, \] where \(A\) is a linear closed operator in a Banach space \(E\) with domain \(D(A)\subset E\), \(p\in E\), \(u_0\in D(A)\), \(v(t)\in C([0,T])\). Let \(A,u_0\) and \(v(t)\) be known a priori. The following linear inverse problem is studied: given \(u(T)\), construct \(p\). Minimal constraints on \(v\) are provided, under which the uniqueness of the solution of this inverse problem is completely described in terms of the eigenvalues of \(A\).
