The authors studied the conjecture proposed by \textit{W. Bergweiler} [Arch. Math. 64, No. 3, 199--202 (1995; Zbl 0818.30021)] and show that any transcendental meromorphic functions \(f(z)\) have the form exp\((\alpha z+\beta)\) if \(f(z)f''(z)-af'(z)^2\neq 0\), where \(a\neq 1, \;\frac{n\pm 1}{n}\), \(n\in \mathbb N\). Moreover, an analogous normality criterion was obtained.
