Generalized entropies in coding theory (Q2543577)

Equivalence of the generalized entropy \(H^\beta(P, \varphi_t)\) defined in this paper and \(H_\alpha^\beta(P)\) Kapur's entropy of order \(\alpha\) and type \(\beta\) is established. This paper generalizes the corresponding results for Rényi's entropy proved earlier by \textit{L. L. Campbell} [Inf. Control 8, 423--429 (1965; Zbl 0138.15103)] and [Z. Wahrscheinlichkeitstheor. Verw. Geb. 6, 113--118 (1966; Zbl 0168.18004)].
