The authors consider a dense two-component gas occupying a half space with prescribed density and temperature gradient along the planar boundary and prescribed velocity gradient far from the boundary. They solve the Enskog-Thorne equation by an asymptotic expansion in the Knudsen number and linearization about a local Maxwellian. Proceeding by an averaging method, they obtain as their main result an explicit expression for the slip velocity on the surface and in particular its dependence on the velocity, temperature and density gradients.
