This paper studies a class of Schrödinger equations which are exactly solvable. Most of the solvable potentials considered to date are given in terms of polynomials, exponential, trigonometric, etc., functions of spatial coordinates. Here the function considered is a generalization of the hyperbolic tangent function, basically the inverse function of the elliptic integral of the third kind. The energy eigenvalues are given in algebraic form as a function of the depth and shape of the potential. The eigenfunctions and scattering functions are also given in a closed form. For certain shapes these potentials resemble the mean field of an atomic nucleus.
