This paper shows the existence of Cournot-Nash equilibria in games with an abstract measure space of players. The results can be viewed as generalizations of the Shafer-Sonnenschein theorem [see \textit{W. J. Shafer}, ibid. 3, 135-137 (1976; Zbl 0348.90030)] and \textit{R. J. Aumanns} theorem [Econometrica 34, 1-17 (1966; Zbl 0142.172)] for the set-up where all consumption sets are compact. The technical contribution of the paper is to show the viability of the weak topology on \(L_ 1(\mu)\) for problems in equilibrium theory.
