The graded and filtrated *-algebras are involutive algebras which can be decomposed into direct algebraic sums of subspaces in a way compatible with the algebraic structure. A locally convex topology \(\tau\) on *- algebra \({\mathcal A}\) is normal if it can be generated by sets of the form: \(u=(v+c)\cap (v-c)\) where \(v\in \tau\) and c is the positive cone in \({\mathcal A}\). *-algebras with such a topology can be represented as topological *-algebras of unbounded operators in a Hilbert space. In the presented paper the author considers a suficient and necessary condition for a locally convex topology on a graded or filtered *-algebra to be normal. Examples derived from tensor algebras are discussed.
