Some concepts of the derivative and ''co-derivative'' of set-valued mappings in Banach spaces are introduced with applications to nonlinear optimal control problems. By using these concepts necessary conditions of optimality for Bolza-type functionals defined on the set of all trajectories of the differential inclusion \(\dot x\in F(x)\) are obtained. These conditions are closely related to the Pontryagin maximum principle with properly constructed adjoint differential inclusions. Next, an abstract optimization problem in Banach spaces is considered and necessary optimality conditions are obtained. As illustration an optimal control problem for a nonlinear autonomous system with a Lagrange-type functional defined over the interval [0,1] with given initial and final sets is solved. Now Clarke's ''calmness assumption'' is replaced by a so- called ''surjectivity assumption'' which means that some properly constructed ''linearized problem'' around the optimal solutions is solvable (controllability of linearized system). At the end an infinite horizon problem for an autonomous linear system is also solved.
