The authors extend their symmetric marching technique (cf. their joint work with \textit{R. Sankar}, ibid. 12, 187-198 (1983; Zbl 0513.65065)] to the problem \(u_{xx}+2B(x,y)u_{xy}+C(x,y)u_{yy}=0\) in D \(u=g\) on \(\partial D\), using the seven point difference analogue given by \textit{D. Greenspan} and \textit{P. C. Jain} [J. Franklin Inst. 279, 360-365 (1965; Zbl 0213.425)]. Numerical results for model problems solved are presented.
