Let \(B_3(x)\) denote the number of triples of integers \(n, n+1, n+2\), with \(n\leq x\), each of which is a sum of two squares. Using the Selberg sieve we show that \(B_3(x)\ll x/(\log x)^{3/2}\). In addition, we give some examples of infinite families of consecutive triples of sums of two squares.
