The aim of the paper is to present a rigorous study of problems of solvability of dual integral equations on a set of intervals. The equations are \[ d/dx\int^{\infty}_{0}A(t)g(t)\sin (tx)dt=f_ n(x),\quad x\in I_ n,\quad n=1,2,...,N, \] \[ \int^{\infty}_{0}A(t)\cos (tx)dt=0,\quad x\in \bar R^+\setminus \cup^{N}_{n=1}I_ n, \] where A(t) is an unknown function, g(t) and \(f_ n(t)\), \(n=1,2,...,N\), are given functions, and \(\bar R{}^+=[0,\infty]\); and the intervals are \(I_ n=(a_ n,b_ n)\) which are finite, mutually nonintersecting intervals contained in \(\bar R{}^+\) with \(a_ 1<a_ 2<...<a_ N\). The authors prove that the dual equations are solvable if and only if a certain system of integral equations is solvable and then proceed to give conditions under which the system of integral equations has a unique solution.
