The author studies, in some detail, the upper radical determined by the class \(E\) of all rings without admissible ideals (i.e. rings in which every subideal (or admissible ideal) is itself an ideal of the ring). He shows, among other things, that this radical is almost subidempotent (i.e. every radical ring is idempotent), is properly contained in the upper radical determined by all prime simple rings and properly contains the upper radical determined by all unequivocal rings. He also shows that it is completely nonhereditary. He closes by asking whether this new radical is equal to some almost subidempotent radical of the form \(I_ y\) where \(y\) is some known weakly supernilpotent radical and \(I_ y\) is the set of all idempotent \(y\) radical rings. In particular he asks about the case when \(y\) is \(\psi\), the upper radical determined by all rings without nonzero transfinitely nilpotent ideals (he shows that \(I_{\psi}\subseteq\) the new radical, but are they equal?); when \(y\) is the Levitzki radical and when \(y\) is the antisimple radical.
