The nonlinear Schrödinger equation \(iq_ t-q_{xx}=\pm 2q^ 2\bar q\) and the Painlevé IV equation are investigated. Asymptotic expansions are obtained near the singularities at zero and infinity of the complex eigenvalue plane. It is known that in this situation the Stokes phenomena appear. The authors determine the Stokes parameters.
