An analytic algorithm for decoupling and integrating systems of nonlinear partial differential equations (Q1091096)

The author presents an analytic algorithm for overdetermined systems of equations. The method decides if a system allows solutions and derives new equations of lower order. The method is presented in the case of algebraic, ordinary differential, and partial differential equations, an application to the vacuum field equations of general relativity is developed, leading to the formulation with potential.
