Two applications of a general inequality given in the first part of this work (see the preceding review Zbl 0654.10044) are given to uniform distribution. Let \(\phi\) be a nondecreasing positive function on (0,\(\infty)\) with \(\phi (0+)=0\), then the \(\phi\)-discrepancy \(D_ N^{(\phi)}(\sigma;g)\) of a sequence \(\sigma =(x_ n)_ 1^{\infty}\) with respect to the distribution function g is defined by \[ D_ N^{(\phi)}(\sigma;g)=\int^{1}_{0}\phi (| \frac{\kappa \{1\leq n\leq N| \quad x_ n\in [0,x)\}}{N}-g(x)|)dx. \] Estimates of this generalized discrepancy by the usual discrepancy are given.
