A ring extension A/B is called an H-separable extension if \({}_ AA\otimes_ BA_ A\) is isomorphic to an A-A direct summand of a finite direct sum of copies of \({}_ AA_ A\). An H-separable extension is separable and every Azumaya algebra is an H-separable extension of its centre. The main theorem in this note is the following: Theorem. Let A/B be an H- separable extension with B Azumaya over its centre Z, and A a projective left B-module. Then 1) A is an Azumaya algebra over its centre C. 2) D, the centralizer of Z in A, is an Azumaya Z-algebra. 3) \({}_ DA\) and \({}_ BA\) are progenerators.
