The paper continues the topic studied by the authors and \textit{H.-J. Li} [Linear Algebra Appl. 94, 181-191 (1987; Zbl 0622.15015)]. Let A(g) denote a tridiagonal (2n,2n)-matrix with diagonal vector \(g\in R^{2n}\) and codiagonal vectors 1. A vector \(g\in R^{2n}\) is called regular (singular), if the associated matrix A(g) is regular (singular). The authors define starlike domains S of regular vectors such that \(\partial S\) contains a singular vector and determine all regular and singular boundary vectors of S. The results are motivated by observations on simple (2,2)-matrices and can be extended to arbitrary (2n,2n)-matrices.
