Relative modalities and their use in possibilistic linear programming (Q922967)

Relative modalities defined by possibility, necessity, impossibility and contingency of fuzzy sets in modal semantics are investigated. Here, e.g. relative possibility is defined as the degree to which the possibility of an event is larger than the possibility of the opposite event, and in the same way, relative necessity, relative impossibility and relative contingency are defined. The important relation between the relative modalities and the absolute modilities is presented in detail. Some problems occurring in decision procedures are treated by means of these methods, and possibilistic linear programming problems are formulated by using these decision procedures. This paper is very interesting and has some practical value.
