The authors prove precise blow-up rate estimates for solutions of the problem \[ u_t-\Delta u=k_1u^p(x,t)+k_2u^q(0,t),\qquad x\in B_R,\;t>0, \] complemented by homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions and initial condition \(u(\cdot,0)=u_0\). Here \(k_1,k_2,p>0\), \(q>1\), \(q\geq p\), \(B_R=\{x\in\mathbb R^n:| x| <R\}\) and \(u_0\) is nonnegative, radial and radially decreasing. The estimate is of the form \[ \lim_{t\to T}(T-t)^{1/(q-1)}u(x,t)=(C(q-1))^{1/(1-q)}, \] uniformly on compact subsets of \(B_R\), where \(C=k_2\) if \(q>p\) and \(C=k_1+k_2\) if \(q=p\) and \(k_2/k_1+1\geq 2^j\geq p\) for some \(j\in\{1,2,\dots\}\).
