    Consider the reaction-diffusion system \[ \begin{aligned} u_t &= \alpha_1 u_{xx}+ u(a_1- b_1 u- c_1 v),\\ v_t &= \alpha_2 v_{xx}+ v(a_2- b_2 u- c_2 v),\end{aligned}\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(a_i\), \(b_i\), \(c_i\), \(\alpha_i\), \(i= 1,2\), are positive constants, \(u\) and \(v\) represents the densities of two competitive species in a one-dimensional unbounded habitat. The problem of the existence of a wave front solution \(u= u(\xi)\), \(v= v(\xi)\), \(\xi= x+ mt\), connecting two non-zero equilibria is equivalent to the existence of a heteroclinic orbit of a corresponding system of ordinary differential equations. Under the assumption \(\alpha_1\neq\alpha_2\) and under additional restrictions on the coefficients \(a_i\), \(b_i\), \(c_i\) the author proves the existence of a monotone wave front and provides lower bounds for the wave speed \(m\).
