It is obvious that a ring is a domain in the Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(n\geq 2\)m characterized by the property that its complement has two components in \(\overline{\mathbb{R}^n}\). Let \(R(E,F)\) stand for a ring domain with complenentary components \(E,F\) and denote its conformal capacity and modulus by cap \(R(E,F)\) and mod\,\(R(E,F)\), respectively. The authors pertinently write: ``The purpose of this paper is to study the following problem posed by \textit{O. Teichmüller}, one of this pioneers of geometric function theory and quasiconformal mappings, in 1938 in: (Deutsche Math. 3, 621--678 (1938; Zbl 0020.23801)] p. 638, (Gesammelte Abhandlungen. In: Ahlfors, L. V., Gehring, F. W. (eds.) Springer, Berlin, Heidelberg, New York (1982; Zbl 0545.01013)]. For \(z\in\mathbb{C}\setminus \{0,1\}\), find the minimal capacity \(p(z)\) of all ring domains which complementary components \(E,F\) such that \(0,1\in E\), \(z,\infty\in F''\). In this article the author give an algoritmic solution of this problem. Before describing the main results of this paper they give an interesting brief review of some earlier work. Next they construct two sequences of continuous functions \(L_k:\mathbb{C}\setminus\{0,1\}\to (0,\infty)\), \(U_k:\mathbb{C}\setminus\{0,1\}\to(0, \infty)\) such that \(L_k\leq p(z)\leq U_k\), \(k=1,2,\dots\) The main theorem states that the limits \(L=\lim_{k\to\infty}L_k\); \(U=\lim_{k\to\infty}U_k\) are the same.
