The paper deals with the dynamics of the map \(f(z)= ae^z+ be^{-z}\), \(a.b\neq 0\), for which both critical orbits are strictly preperiodic. The author has proved that there is a partition \(\mathbb{C}= R\cup L\), with \(R\cap L=\emptyset\) and with the following properties: 1. The set \(R =\bigcup_{i\in I}\gamma_i\) is a disjoint union of curves \(\gamma_i: (0,\infty)\to \mathbb{C}\) such that \(\lim_{t\to\infty}\gamma_i(t)= \infty\) and \(\lim_{t\to 0+}\gamma_i(t)\) exists in \(L\). 2. Each point \(z\in L\) is connected to \(\infty\) by at least one curve \(\gamma\subset R\). 3. The set \(R\) has Hausdorff dimension 1. The key features of this article are the following: (i) This is the first example of a transcendental dynamical system, where the Julia set is all of \(\mathbb{C}\) and the dynamics is described in detail for every point using symbolic dynamics. (ii) We get the strongest possible version (in the plane) of the ``dimension paradox'': the set \(R\) of rays has Hausdorff dimension 1, and each point in \(\mathbb{C}\setminus R\) is connected to \(\infty\) by one or more disjoint rays in \(R\).
