Constitutive equations for discrete electromagnetic problems over polyhedral grids (Q2381242)

This paper deals with the study of constitutive equations for discrete electromagnetic problems over polyhedral grids. The construction of discrete constitutive equations preserving thermodynamic relations is proposed, as a way for ensuring consistency and stability of discrete equations. The geometric relation between primal and dual grids is introduced and interpreted as the extension to dual grids of the relation between covariant and contravariant components. Numerical experiments illustrating the abstract results are provided in the last part of the present paper.
