    Let \(\psi\in L^2(\mathbb{R})\), \(W_0= \overline{\text{Span}}\{\psi(-k): k\in\mathbb{Z}\}\) and \(P_\psi(\xi)= \sum_{k\in\mathbb{Z}} |\widehat\psi(\xi+ 2\pi k)|^2\), \(\xi\in\mathbb{R}\), where \(\widehat\psi\) is the Fourier transform of \(\psi\). Applying a result by \textit{R. Hunt}, \textit{B. Muckenhoupt} and \textit{B. Wheeden} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 176, 227--251 (1973; Zbl 0262.44004)] it is proved that the family \(\{\psi(-k): k\in\mathbb{Z}\}\) is a Schauder basis for \(W_0\) if and only if there is a constant \(M> 0\) such that for every interval \(I\subset\mathbb{R}\) there holds the inequality \[ \Biggl(|I|^{-1}\int_I P_\psi(\xi)\,d\xi\Biggr)\Biggl(|I|^{-1} \int_I P^{-1}_\psi(\xi)\,d\xi\Biggr)\leq M. \]
