Let \(A\) denote the arithmetic mean in \([0,1]\). The max-\(A\) composition of fuzzy relations was introduced by \textit{J. C. Bezdek} and \textit{J. D. Harris} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 1, 111--127 (1978; Zbl 0442.68093)]. Recently \textit{E. Khorram} and \textit{A. Ghodousian} [Appl. Math. Comput. 173, No. 2, 872--886 (2006; Zbl 1091.65057)] used it in examination of systems of fuzzy relation equations. The present authors examine the convergence of the right hand generated max-\(A\) powers of matrices over the semiring \(R = ([0,1], \max,A)\) (the max-\(A\) composition is not associative). Using the directed graph associated with given a matrix over \(R\), the authors prove the convergence of its max-\(A\) powers and examine the properties of the limit matrix. Rich references (33 items) to papers on matrix power sequences are included.
