The authors consider the eigenfunction expansion generated by selfadjoint extensions of quasidifferential operators of the form \[ L_{mn}(y)=\sum\limits_{i=0}^{n}\sum\limits_{j=0}^{m}(-1)^{m-j}\left( a_{ij}(x)y^{(n-i)}\right) ^{(m-j)}\;, \] where \(a_{i0},\;a_{0j}\in L^{2}(a,b)\) but the remaining coefficients are measures, i.e. \(a_{ij}(x)=b_{ij}^{\prime }(x)\), where \(b_{ij}\in BV^{+}[a,b],\) the space of right continuous functions of bounded variation on \([a,b].\) Here, the authors first estimate the Green's function of the self-adjoint extensions under the assumption that the spectra are simple and then derive the eigenfunction expansion.
