\textit{M. Khovanov} defined a link homology theory categorifying the \(sl_3\) link polynomial in [Algebr. Geom. Topol. 4, 1045--1081 (2004; Zbl 1159.57300)]. The authors of the paper reviewed here, and independently Morrison and Nieh using a different approach, generalized this homology theory to obtain a universal link homology theory in the papers [Algebr. Geom. Topol. 7, 1135--1169 (2007; Zbl 1170.57011)] and \textit{S. Morrison} and \textit{A. Nieh} [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 17, No.~9, 1121--1173 (2008; Zbl 1300.57013)], respectively. Meanwhile Khovanov and Rozansky constructed a rational link homology theory categorifying the \(sl_n\) link polynomial for all \(n>0\) in [\textit{Virtual crossings, convolutions and a categorification of the SO(2N) Kauffman polynomial}, arXiv: math.QA/0701333]. They conjectured that this theory agrees with Khovanov's theory tensored with \(\mathbb Q\) for \(n=3\). In the paper reviewed here, the authors show that the homology of Khovanov and Rozansky for \(n=3\) tensored with \(\mathbb Q\) agrees with the generalization of Khovanov's theory defined by the authors in the paper referenced above.
