    Existence of solutions for the problem \[ -u'' = g(u)+h(x) \] on a bounded interval \((a,b)\) with homogeneous Dirichlet conditions is proved under nonresonance conditions between the first eigenvalue and the first curve in the Fucik spectrum of the associated linear problem. More precisely, if \(\text{sgn}(s)g(s)\) tends to \(+\infty\) as \(| s| \to \infty\), \[ \liminf_{s\to\pm \infty} \frac{2G(s)}{s^2}>\lambda_1, \] and the numbers \[ \mu:= \liminf_{s\to + \infty} \frac {2G(s)}{s^2} ,\qquad \nu:= \limsup_{s\to - \infty} \frac {2G(s)}{s^2} \] satisfy \[ \frac\pi{\sqrt{\mu}} + \frac\pi{\sqrt{\nu}}>b-a, \] then the problem has at least one solution for any \(h\in L^1(a,b)\).
