Let \({\mathcal M}\) be a variety of algebras, and let \(G\) be the Grassmann superalgebra on generators \(e_j\). If \({\mathcal A}={\mathcal A}_0\oplus {\mathcal A}_1\) is a superalgebra, then \(G({\mathcal A})= G_0\otimes {\mathcal A}_0+G_1\otimes {\mathcal A}_1\). Consider the \({\mathcal M}\)-free superalgebra \({\mathcal M}^s[X]\) on \(r\) free odd generators \(x_i\). The subalgebra \(\tilde{G}_{\mathcal M}[x_1,\ldots,x_r]\) in \(G({\mathcal M}^s[X])\) generated be \(x_i\otimes e_j\) is called the \({\mathcal M}\)-Grassmann algebra of rank \(r\). The author constructs a basis of identities of the right alternative metabelian Grassmann algebra of rank \(1\) and proves that the variety generated by this algebra has almost finite topological rank. It is also shown that the variety generated by a Grassmann algebra of rank \(2\) is not Spechtian.
