This paper is devoted to quasilinear parabolic equations with a non-Lipschitz nonlinearity. Consider scale of Banach spaces \(\{E_s,\|\cdot\|_s^E\}_{s\in(0,1)}\), where all embeddings \(E_{s+ \delta}\subseteq E_s\), \(\delta>0\) are completely continuous and \(\|\cdot\|_s^E\leq\|\cdot\|_{s+\delta}^E\). Let also \(S^t:E_s\to E_s\), \(t>0\) be a strong continuous linear semigroup, \(\|S^tu- u\|_s^E\to0\) as \(t\searrow0\), \(\|S^tu\|_s^E\leq C\|u\|_s^E\). The semigroup \(S^t\) is said to be parabolic if there exists a constant \(\gamma>1\) such that \(\forall\,\delta,t>0,\delta^\gamma<t<T\), we have \(\|S^tu\|_{s+\delta}^E\leq C\|u\|_s^E/t^\psi\). Let \(A\) be a linear operator \(A: E_{s+ \delta}\to E_{s}\) and semigroup \(S^t= e^{At}\) be a such that \(\forall \,u\in E_{s+ \delta}, \lim_{h \to+0}\|\frac1h(e^{Ah}-{id}_{E_{s+ \delta}})u-Au\|_s^E=0\). The problem \[ u_t=f(t,u)+Au,\quad u_{|t=0}=0,\tag{*} \] is said to be parabolic if the semigroup \(S^t=e^{At}\) is parabolic and \(\chi= \psi+\alpha/\gamma<1\). In Theorem 2.1 it is proved that if the problem \((*)\) is parabolic then there exits a constant \(T_*>0\) such that this problem has a solution \(u(t)\in\bigcap \limits_{0< s^\gamma< \tau<T}C^1((\tau,T_*),E_s)\) and for any constant \(c\in(0,1)\) one has \(\|u(t)\|_{ct^{1/\gamma}}^E\to0\) as \(t\searrow0\). The generalized solutions to the problem \((*)\) are also considered. Theorem 2.1 is applied to a nonlocal parabolic problem and to the Navier-Stokes equation. The mathematical tool that used in the paper is the locally convex-space version of the Schauder fixed-point theorem and the theory of scales of Banach spaces.
