Let \(C\) be a closed convex subset of a reflexive Banach space and \(\varphi : = (T_i)_{i \in I}\) be a family of self-mappings on \(C\) such that \(F(\varphi)\), the common fixed point set of \(\varphi\), is nonempty. The author gives some conditions under which there exists a retraction of type \((\gamma)\) from \(C\) onto \(F(\varphi)\). Some applications to find ergodic retractions for nonexpansive affine mappings are also given.
