In the article under review, the authors study a homogeneous toric ideal associated to a finite graph \(G\), namely the cut ideal \(I_G\) of \(G\). First of all they use toric fiber products to describe how generating sets and Gröbner bases of \(I_G\) can be computed when \(G\) admits a certain clique-sum decomposition. Also they make some computations and outline a number of conjectures. Finally they present applications to algebraic statistics.
