On termination of log flips in dimension four (Q2655157)

The monumental work of Birkar--Cascini--Hacon--McKernan proving the finite generation of pluricanonical ring for a wide class of varieties, [\textit{C. Birkar, P. Cascini, J. McKernan, C. Hacon}, Existence of minimal models for varieties of log general type, \url{arXiv:math.AG/0610203}], answers only partially to the full Minimal Model Conjecture. The main problem left is the termination of chains flips. In this area some partial results are known in dimension 4 [see \textit{V. Alexeev, C. Hacon, Y. Kawamata}, Invent. Math. 168, No. 2, 433--448 (2007; Zbl 1118.14017)]. The note under review is another step in this direction. The author is able to prove the termination of log-flips for klt pairs of dimension 4 and Kodaira dimension greater or equal than \(2\).
