Let \(V\) be a \(2n\)-dimensional vector space (\(n \geqslant 1\)) over a field \(\mathbb K\) equipped with a nondegenerate alternating bilinear form \(f\), and let \(G \cong Sp (2n,\mathbb K)\) denote the group of isometries of \((V,f)\). For every \(k \in \{1,\dots ,n\}\), there exists a natural representation of \(G\) on the subspace \(W_k\) of \(\bigwedge ^kV\) generated by all vectors \(\bar v_1 \wedge \dots \wedge \bar v_k\) such that \(\langle \bar v_1, \dots, \bar v_k \rangle\) is totally isotropic with respect to \(f\). With the aid of linear algebra, the author proves some properties of this representation. In particular, he determines a necessary and sufficient condition for the representation to be irreducible and characterizes the largest proper \(G\)-submodule. These facts allow us to determine when the Grassmann embedding of the symplectic dual polar space \(DW(2n-1,\mathbb K)\) is isomorphic to its minimal full polarized embedding.
