The Brezis-Nirenberg problem is \[ -\Delta u= \lambda u+|u|^{2^*-2}u \quad\text{in } \Omega, \qquad u = 0 \quad\text{on } \partial \Omega, \leqno (P)_\lambda \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded subset of \(\mathbb R^N\) with \(N\geq 3\) and \(2^* = \frac{2N}{N-2}\) is the critical Sobolev exponent. The authors use linking arguments to settle an open question regarding multiplicity of solutions. Namely, in this paper it is proven that for \(N \geq 7\) and for any \(\lambda>0\), the problem \((P)_\lambda\) admits infinitely many sign changing solutions.
