The Kauffman skein module of a three-manifold \(M\), denoted by \(S(M)\), is the \(\mathbb{C}[A,A^{-1}]\)-module generated by banded (or framed) links in \(M\) with relations used to define the Kauffman bracket. In the paper under review the author proves that for a torus knot \(T_{p,q}\) with coprime integers \(p\) and \(q\), \(S(S^3\setminus{T_{p,q}})\) is isomorphic to \(\mathbb{C}[A,A^{-1}]\otimes\mathbb{C}[\chi(S^3\setminus{T_{p,q}})]\), where \(S^3\) is the three-sphere, \(\chi(M)\) is the \(SL(2;\mathbb{C})\)-character variety, and \(\mathbb{C}{\chi(M)}\) is the algebra of regular functions on \(\chi(M)\). For the proof the author introduces a filtration \(\mathcal{F}_k\) in \(S(S^3\setminus{T_{p,q}})\) and a filtration \(F_k\) in \(\mathbb{C}(\chi(S^3\setminus{T_{p,q}}))\), and shows that \(\mathcal{F}_k/\mathcal{F}_{k-1}\) is isomorphic to \((F_k/F_{k-1})\otimes\mathbb{C}[A,A^{-1}]\).
