From the abstract: ``In this paper we interpret the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula and the Casselman-Shalika formula as sums over Kashiwara-Lusztig's canonical bases, generalizing the results of \textit{D. Bump} and \textit{M. Nakasuji} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 138, No. 5, 1595--1605 (2010; Zbl 1268.22009)] to arbitrary split reductive groups. We also rewrite formulas for spherical vectors and zonal spherical functions in terms of canonical bases.'' The exposition of the canonical bases is very concise, assuming the reader's familiarity with them (so exact references are not given), as well as with other objects where it is assumed the reader would guess what they are (``the maximal unipotent subgroup of \(\text{GL}(n)\)'', ``the maximal torus'' at the bottom of the first page; \(wt(b)\) in the formulae on the 2nd page; the Iwahori subgroup not defined at the first paragraph of Section 3, the B which appears in the following paragraph). The formulae obtained are interesting and useful.
