The authors study polyhedra with a certain regularity. On the one hand each polyhedron is viewed as a geometrical structure in the Euclidean 3-space, on the other hand it is considered as a combinatorical object, more precisely, as a structure that consists just of the vertices, the lines, the faces and their connections. The automorphism group \(\Gamma\) of the polyhedron in the Euclidean 3-space has a canonical isomorphic image \(\Gamma'\) in the automorphism group \(G\) of the combinatorical object. A polyhedron is said to be regular of index 2 if \(G\) is flag-transitive and \(\Gamma'\) is a subgroup of index 2 in \(G\). The authors give a full classification of all polyhedra that are regular of index 2. In particular, they give a full list of all such polyhedra under the extra condition that the vertices are in two orbits regarding the group action of \(\Gamma\).
