One of Siegels's theorem states that on the complement of three points in the projective line there exist (over any number field) only finitely many integral points. Since some time we know two independent methods of proof, and recently \textit{M. Kim} [Invent. Math. 161, No. 3, 629--656 (2005; Zbl 1090.14006)] found in some case a third. The present paper extends Kim's method to more (but not all) cases, by replacing Galois cohomology by motivic cohomology. Obviously, the main point of interest is the new method, not the result itself.
