Fourfold symmetric solutions to the Ginzburg Landau equation for d-wave superconductors (Q766101)

This paper deals with the qualitative analysis of solutions of a Ginzburg-Landau system for a high temperature superconductor with tetragonal symmetry. The authors prove the existence and the symmetry of the solutions by means of a contractive mapping. Next, by using the gauge invariance of the Ginzburg-Landau energy, it is proved that the projected solutions are, in fact, true solutions provided that the parameter is sufficiently small. The proofs combine a careful asymptotic analysis with related estimates.
