The \(L^{p(\cdot)}\) spaces with variable weights \(p(\cdot)\) are special cases of generalized Orlicz spaces. Define the class \(\mathcal{P}\) as the weights \(p\) with \[ 1 < p^- \leq p^+ < \infty, \] \noindent where \(p^- = \mathrm{ess} \inf_{x \in \mathbb R^n} p(x), p^+ = \mathrm{ess} \sup_{x \in \mathbb R^n} p(x) \), The authors show that for weights with \(p(x)/2 \in \mathcal{P}\), the Schrödinger operator \(L = -\Delta + V\), with \(V\) is locally integrable in \(\mathbb R^n, n \geq 3\), has a bounded holomorphic functional calculus. This means that if \(\nu>0, f\) holomorphic and bounded in the interior of a sector \(\{z| |\arg z| \leq \nu \} \cup \{ 0\}, g \in L^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)\), \[ \| f(L) g \|_{p(\cdot)} \leq C \| f\|_{\infty} \| g \|_{p(\cdot)}. \]
