Let \((p_{n})\) denote a sequence of nonnegative numbers with \(p_{0}>0\) and with partial sums \(P_{n}=\sum_{i=0}^{n}p_{i}\uparrow \infty \) and with finite generating function (gf) \(p(x)=\sum_{i=0}^{\infty }p_{i}x^{i}\), \( 0<x<1 \). The weighted means of a sequence \((u_{n})\) are defined by \( w_{1}(n)=\sum_{i=0}^{n}u_{i}p_{i}/P_{n}\). The weighted gf of \((u_{n})\) is given by \(u_{1}(x)=\sum_{i=0}^{\infty }u_{i}p_{i}x^{i}/p(x)\). By iteration the authors also define weighted sequences \(w_{m}(n)\) and gf \( u_{m}(x)\). If (i) \(u_{n}\rightarrow s\) as \(n\rightarrow \infty \), then (ii) \( w_{1}(n)\rightarrow s\), as \(n\rightarrow \infty \) and from (ii) it follows that (iii) \(u_{1}(x)\rightarrow s\) as \(x\rightarrow 1\). In the paper the authors formulate some technical conditions about \((p_{n})\) and \((P_{n})\) and show that slow oscillation of the sequence \((u_{n})\) is a Tauberian condition for proving inverse implications of the form (iii) \(\Rightarrow \) (ii) and (iii), (ii) \(\Rightarrow \) (i).
